Billionth Hand winners at Nutspoker

Congratulations to the players N1nj4, TheNameNone, makemeluck, DrunkCowboy and yenomruteglliw who all recently picked up prizes in the Billionth Hand promotion - and especially to Luke1235 who managed it twice!

New betting slider in poker software

The betting slider for both cash tables and tournaments has been revamped. Tabs have been added to the top of the betting slider to indicate useful pot marks. Pressing a pot-mark tab updates the Raise
To amount, although the player must still approve the raise amount by clicking the Raise To button.
The All-in button has been removed from its original location, and an All-In pot-mark tab has been added to the new betting slider. This means that players will have to confirm the amount before going all-in.

The buttons' appearance is dependent on the hand status. Pre-flop buttons are indicated by increments of minimum bets, while the post-flop buttons are indicated by portions of the current pot (1/2 pot, pot and so forth).
The buttons appear only if they are relevant. If a button indicates an obsolete pot mark (for example lower than the minimum bet), it will not appear and the next relevant pot button will appear instead.

The raise logic was changed from raise by to raise to:
When the player uses the betting slider to raise, the amount determined appears on the Raise To button and players must then confirm the raised amount by clicking the Raise To button to submit the bet.
When a player has bet or raised and was re-raised by another player, the Raise To button includes the former bets/raises made by the player together with the amount on the Raise To button which indicates the total bet made by the player in the betting round. Betting rounds are: Pre-flop bet, post flop bet, post-turn bet and post-river bet.

Example:
Player A, B and C are playing a 1/2 NL game.
Player A posts Small Blinds ($1)
Player B posts Big Blind ($2).
Player C raises to $4
Player A now wants to raise to $7 ($3 more than Player C's raise).
If the player determined the amount $7 using the slider, the Raise To button shows Raise to $7, meaning the total amount Player A has on the table is $7.

Daily Freerolls increased to $300

The Nutspoker Daily Freerolls are increasing to $300 from 04.01.2008, top thirty paid. In response to your feedback we have reduced the registration period to two hours before the tournament begins, to reduce the number of sit-outs. The registration period for the Nuts Asylum tournaments is now also two hours before the tournaments begin.

Interrupted tournaments

Our apologies for the interrupted Daily Freeroll and Nuts Asylum tournaments on 30.12.07. Unfortunately tournaments across the entire network were affected, but things are back to normal again and affected players have been compensated. The players in the Nutspoker Freeroll have received their bonus dollars according to their positions at the time of the interruption and the Nuts Asylum tournaments will continue next Sunday as usual.

Nuts Points Xmas Tournaments

Some particularly juicy Nuts Points tournaments are coming up during the festive season - check the promotions page for details.

Hall Of Fame tournaments starting in December

For the Nuts who make it into our Hall Of Fame each month, we'll be running exclusive invitation-only Hall Of Fame tournaments.

Second Daily Freeroll starting on 03.12.07.

As from December 3rd a second $200 Daily Freeroll will start - every day at 09:00 GMT.

Second Nuts Asylum tournament starting on 02.12.07.

Nuts belong in the asylum! The asylum is getting popular, so we've decided to add a second one - starting in December there will be two tournaments every Sunday, at 10:00 and 16:00 GMT. The new tournament should prove to be at a more friendly time for our Australian & Asian nuts, we hope!

Nutspoker Daily Freerolls increased to $200 per day

Our daily freerolls are growing day by day, so we've decided to increase the prize pool to $200 in each tournament. There is some absolutely shocking play in evidence - we've seen a player, who shall remain forever anonymous, call an all-in bet on the river, with a board showing four hearts and three overcards. The player's hand? 9-3 of diamonds... ok, let's be charitable, maybe this particular player can't differentiate between hearts and diamonds?!?

So, you know what to do - register for the daily freeroll and act like a shark, there are some VERY tasty fish on the menu!

Changes to rebuy tournaments from 27.11.07.

As from November 27th, 2007, there will be some changes to our rebuy tournaments.
From this date onwards a player will be able to rebuy as soon as his/her chip stack is equal to or lower than the starting stack – in other words a player can “double up” via a rebuy right from the beginning of a tournament.

The rebuy button will automatically appear in front of the dealer as long as a player can still rebuy (always assuming the tournament is still at a rebuy stage and the player has not yet reached the maximum number of rebuys permitted).

The calculation for players’ eligibility for a rebuy is made at the beginning of a hand. This means that even if the player then wins the hand during which he has re-bought, he will still receive his rebuy.

All players who are eligible for a rebuy before the start of the add-on break will receive a pop-up message asking if they would like to rebuy (they will still have the option to add-on). Once the add-on break has started, the button will disappear for all players.

Athenrye wins inaugural Nutspoker Daily Freeroll tournament

Congratulations to athenrye on winning the first of our daily freerolls, and then following that up with a win in the Nuts Asylum tournament too – who’s going to take him down?!?

Silver991 wins inaugural Nuts Asylum tournament

Congratulations to Silver991, who won the first Nuts Asylum tournament, beating our own Russ Connor heads-up to finish first out of 73 players!

Nutspoker Daily Freerolls starting 15.11.07.

Nutspoker freerolls are now exclusively available for all registered NutsPoker players and are free to enter - simply download & install the software and set up your account.
Nutspoker freerolls have a prize pool of $100, with the top ten players being paid. They run every evening at 19:00 GMT.

New promotions pages!!

One promotions page just isn't enough for us, so we created two: the exclusive Nutspoker promotions are increasing almost as quickly as Phil Ivey's chipstack!

And don't forget to keep checking the network promotions page, that one's expanding almost as fast as Russ Connor's waistline...

Cash-in Nuts Points function available

You can now cash in the Nuts Points you collect - see the Nuts Points page for details.

Nuts Asylum beginners' tournaments starting 11.11.07.

The Nuts Asylum tournaments are restricted tournaments running every Sunday at 16:00 GMT. Participation is restricted to players who have registered an account within the previous 90 days, therefore entitling only new players to a safe place in one of the Nuts Asylum events. This provides new Nuts with the perfect opportunity to experience a real money tournament environment without the disadvantage of playing against experienced sharks!

The Nuts Asylum events are No Limit Texas Hold’em multi-table tournaments. There is no entry fee, but a prize pool of $50, with the top ten finishers being paid.

Welcome to the News of the Nuts!

In this section we'll keep you up to date with all the happenings in the fast-developing world of NutsPoker - and there are going to be as many of those as there are incidents in a Victorian lunatic asylum on the night of a full moon!

Check back here regularly to find out what our poker-addled minds are up to.

By way of a sneak preview, here are just a few of the upcoming developments you'll see materialising at NutsPoker in the coming months:-

The Nuthouse

Don't take it the wrong way, but if you're reading this you're already an inmate in the Nuthouse!

This will be Nutspoker's equivalent of "care in the community" - a focal point on the web for all the aimlessly wandering poker nuts out there, including:-

  • Nuts News : you're reading it...
  • Featured Nuts : reports on some of our regular features.
  • VIP Nuts : detailed information about our VIP levels program for all our players.
  • Nuts Points : everything you need to know about the Nuts Points you automatically collect while playing and what you can do with them.
  • Hall Of Fame : where we celebrate the winners at NutsPoker.
  • Assorted Nuts : poker oddments & curios found in cardboard boxes in the basement of our office.

The Nuts Poker Academy

Yes, we hated going to school too (it tended to cut badly into our poker schedule), but this will be one school you'll be glad you attended.
If you can't learn something here, there's no hope for you - go and try morris dancing or fashion design instead!

Ladies' Lounge

An area of the NutsPoker world dedicated to our female players - because we all secretly know they're better - right?

Promotions

Keep an eye on the promo pages, you don't want to miss anything here!

Tournaments

Big tournaments, small tournaments, freeroll tournaments, national tournaments, player ranking tournaments, women's tournaments, beginners' tournaments, Nuts Points tournaments - take your pick!

Deutschsprachiger Inhalt

A German-language version of the Nutspoker & Nutshouse websites is in planning.

That's quite enough to be going on with for now - if you have any comments or suggestions about anything you'd particularly like to see at Nutspoker, send an email to : russ@nutspoker.com

Who knows what we might be able to do in between hands of poker!

Stay tuned, fellow nuts!
